Caleb sustains burns on the job, and while being treated at the hospital where his wife works, Dr. Finding Catherine unmoved, Caleb is consoled by his father while Michael reveals that he has been divorced. Catherine visits Caleb at work and seems they're a happy couple again, they renew their vows, and Caleb's dad confesses he's not the one who did the love dare with his mom, it was mom who did it to dad (as dad was ready to call it quits).Married couple Caleb (Kirk Cameron), a fire captain, and Catherine Holt (Erin Bethea), a hospital administrator are experiencing marital difficulties. Caleb leaves Gavin resigns to losing the fight for Catherine and puts his own wedding band back on. Caleb follow the steps almost mechanically and without passion, then questions why it's not working. As Catherine's work at a hospital puts her in touch with charming doctor Gavin, Caleb's dad gives him a book, a "love dare" to try for 40 days toward saving the marriage. They're on the brink of divorce and often getting on each other's nerves Caleb feels he's going just fine, Catherine thinks his obsession with buying a boat and online porn are far from okay. Fire captain is experiencing a slow draining of the marital passions with wife Catherine.
